DSC00115Thanks to those who participated in last week’s workshop for the Village’s Comprehensive Plan Update. If you have any comments, suggestions, and/or ideas about the content presented in any of the exhibits, please contact us through the online feedback form.

The content of each exhibit corresponds with the updated and proposed vision topics/statements to be included in the Comprehensive Plan Update. These include the following:

  • Invest in a Pleasant Quality-of-Life
  • Preserve Village & Neighborhood Character
  • Maintain Diversity & Affordability
  • Support & Encourage Walking and Bicycling
  • Protect & Improve the Environment
  • Be Prepared for Storms, Floods & Rising Sea-Levels

The exhibits showcase several comments we received about each topic, a draft vision statement, and highlights of preliminary recommendations.

Just a gentle reminder about the workshop for the Village’s Comprehensive Plan Update on Thursday, September 27 in the Courtroom at 169 Mt. Pleasant Avenue from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Drop in at any point during this time period.VoM Sept 27 Poster 11x17

The purpose of the workshop is to invite comments, suggestions, and ideas from the public for key topics within the Comprehensive Plan Update. Key topics include, but are not limited to: quality-of-life, village/neighborhood character, diversity and affordability, environmental sustainability and resiliency, and walking and bicycling.

These topics stem from the vision section of the 2012 Comprehensive Plan, which has been updated and expanded based on the community engagement that has taken place so far in the Village.

Members of the consultant team, along with the Village Planning Department, will be on hand to facilitate discussion and solicit input on the topics and any preliminary recommendations presented.

September 27 Workshop

The Village of Mamaroneck invites residents and all other interested parties to an “open house” style workshop for the Village’s Comprehensive Plan Update on Thursday, September 27 in the Courtroom at 169 Mt. Pleasant Avenue from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. People can drop in at any point during this time period.

The purpose of the workshop is to invite comments, suggestions, and ideas from the public for key topics within the Comprehensive Plan Update. Key topics include, but are not limited to: quality-of-life, village/neighborhood character, diversity and affordability, environmental sustainability and resiliency, and walking and bicycling.

This includes: input received from residents during the April 29 Clean & Green Day, the July 12 Avenue Block Party, stakeholder interviews, and a roundtable discussion with local high school students; the results of the Village Environmental Sustainability Questionnaire; comments received from residents through this website; and feedback from Village committees and boards.

August/September Updates

Save the Date! Mark your calendars for the late afternoon/evening of Thursday, September 27.  The Village will be hosting a Village-wide Open House/Workshop for the Comprehensive Plan Update. More details on this event will posted to this website in the days to come.

July 12th Summer on the Avenue Block Party. It was a beautiful, warm, and festive  evening on the Avenue on July 12. At our Comprehensive Plan Update “booth” we spoke with many residents, adding several new voices to the Village Voices podcast, and received a number of ideas and opinions about the Village on the Village Idea Board. Special thanks to David Russo, Tony Gelber, and Greg Cutler for volunteering their time at the booth.
